MDP provided mechanical and plumbing design services for the new seven-story Marriott AC Hotel in Denver’s vibrant RiNo neighborhood. The 128-key, light gage, steel-framed structure features a first-floor lobby, kitchen, and back-of-house spaces; a second-floor fitness center; and upper floors with stacked, typical unit layouts.
The HVAC design included roof-mounted air-source heat pump units ducted to corridors, guest rooms, and fan coil units (FCUs), with rooms served by low-profile horizontal FCUs connected air-source heat pump units. Plumbing design supported the hotel’s lounge, dining, kitchen, laundry, and other brand-standard amenities. MDP collaborated closely with the design-build team, ensuring systems met Marriott Brand Standards and complied with Denver’s energy codes, and designed with provisions for LEED mechanical and plumbing credits if pursued.
