MDP Engineering Group provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the remodel of a 162-unit, three-story apartment building with below-grade parking in Denver, CO. The 50-year-old building underwent significant upgrades, including in-unit washer/dryer installations, a new building-wide sprinkler system, accessibility and common area improvements, and the conversion of approximately 100 one-bedroom units to two-bedroom layouts.
MDP’s scope included evaluating the existing 2,500A, 208/3 electrical service to accommodate the new loads, designing ERV systems for improved ventilation, transfer fans, new lighting, and documenting base-building mechanical and plumbing upgrades at the design-development level—such as new chillers, boilers, and water heaters—while coordinating closely with the client through the nonconforming use review process.
