DPS Horace Mann
MDP provided full design services for the renovation of Room 224 at Horace Mann Elementary School as part of Denver Public Schools’ improvement program. The project focused on upgrading classroom comfort and system performance while maintaining consistency with existing building systems. The scope included rerouting the existing steam supply and condensate piping to service four new Magicaire 4-pipe Univents installed beneath the classroom windows. The new units were designed to match existing Univents throughout the school and were sized in accordance with the IECC 2021, IMC 2021, and DPS standards. The design also tied into existing chilled water lines in the adjacent corridor, with new shutoff valves extended through the ceiling to each unit.
