MDP provided full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the renovation of the historic Denver Dry Building, one of Denver’s most iconic landmarks. Originally constructed in 1910 as the headquarters of the Denver Dry Goods Company, thebuilding has since been repurposed for mixed use, including residential apartments and office space.
MDP’s scope included the renovation of 51 existing affordable housing units, the conversion of former office/retail space into 55 new affordable housing units, and the design of new office and amenity areas. Services also included the conversion of steam heating and domestic water systems, updated utility metering, and a conceptual study of the building’s existing smoke control system. MDP’s work supported the adaptive reuse of this historic structure while enhancing energy performance and livability for affordable housing residents.
